A new video series features real machinery and critical processes across the battery production value chain
GIGABAT announces the release of a series of videos showcasing real-world battery manufacturing machinery and processes across its partner laboratories. These videos have been developed through the collective collaboration of consortium partners in order to bring to life key stages of the battery value chain.
The videos were formally presented in November 2025 at the International Battery Production Conference (IBPC) in Braunschweig, Germany – one of the leading global events focused on innovation and practical challenges in battery manufacturing.
Featuring real footage of equipment in action, the videos document critical moments along the battery production value chain, including complex steps such as calendering, post-drying, continous slurry mixing, and other operations that are essential to producing high-performance cells. The videos show insights into how advanced machinery, developed or coordinated through GIGABAT partners, functions within a digitised production ecosystem. Each segment is complemented by explanations that unpack the technical reasoning behind these processes, making complex industrial actions more accessible.
Highlights from the video series include real footage of machinery at work in partner laboratories across Europe, step-by-step explanations of high-value production steps (such as coating, drying, calendaring, and other manufacturing stages), and commentary from technical experts illustrating how these processes influence battery quality, efficiency, and performance.
