Learning about the contemporary environmental challenges with an eye on electric vehicle batteries

NEWS

GIGABAT's partner, the Technical University of Braunschweig, has published a scientific paper related to the project's field of expertise

The Institute of Machine Tools and Production Technology (IWF), of TU Braunschweig has released a scientific publication titled: “A stepwise approach for determining absolute environmental sustainability targets for an electric vehicle battery”.

This study introduces a method to set precise sustainability targets during product development, considering factors like planetary boundaries and IPCC carbon budgets with specific considerations like supplier selection and production location. Illustrated through a traction battery case study, it also discusses potential applications and limitations of this approach.
