Collaboration within GIGABAT drives innovation in continuous electrode drying for Next-Gen Batteries
Another step towards optimizing battery production: JCS and Kampf LSF advance post-drying technology
A recent meeting was held in Laußig in the framework of GIGABAT, focused on advancing winding technology. Specifically, the meeting was related to the TechWinder system for roll-to-roll (R2R) electrode post-drying in Gen3B LiB battery production. Discussions centered on the key advantages of the system, as well as the potential optimizations that will be integrated into the next-generation setup.
Jagenberg Converting Solutions continues its in-house simulation of post-drying processes as an active partner of GIGABAT, contributing to the development of European Gigafactories through advanced technological solutions and digitalization, along with other highly experienced partners.
Within this framework, JCS is focused on optimizing the continuous post-drying process for battery foils. A critical element in this process is the TechWinder system by Kampf LSF GmbH & Co. KG, which ensures seamless material handling even in demanding conditions, such as ultra-low dew points reaching -40°C.
A dedicated team at JCS took key steps to refine the continuous production process, ensuring optimal alignment with project specifications. These efforts reflect the ongoing commitment to innovation and efficiency in high-performance battery manufacturing.
